At Gloo, we talk a lot about technology. We build it, shape it, and equip the faith & flourishing ecosystem with it every day. But technology has never been the end goal; it's always been the means. The real vision of Gloo has been a world where every person can flourish and be all they were born to be.

This drives everything we do as we build the leading technology platform to serve the faith and flourishing ecosystem—an ecosystem committed to improving the lives of people all over the world.

The Origin of Flourishing

The concept of human flourishing isn't new. It stretches back centuries to Aristotle and continues to grow as a field of scientific research today. The Global Flourishing Study, drawing on insights from more than 200,000 people across 20-plus countries, defines it simply as living in a state where all aspects of a person's life are going well. This research-backed connection supports the multi-millennia-long work of flourishing that the ecosystem we serve has invested in, and that resonates deeply with our vision. 

In a moment when therapy and companionship have become the number one use case for generative AI, the need to shape technology as a force for good has never been more urgent. We can't afford for AI and other emerging technologies to go down the same path as social media, which coincided with a near doubling of major depressive episodes among adolescents as it rapidly expanded. We have a responsibility to ensure emerging technologies deepen our capacity to flourish, not diminish it. Technology, when shaped for good, can and should help us deepen our flourishing. 

So why does a technology company care this much about the human condition? 

Our core belief is that relationships catalyze growth—and when technology fully serves that, the world can be changed, one life at a time. That’s why we shape technology as a force for good, and the best way we can do that is by serving those who serve. We must build, develop, and amplify the purposes of the men and women on the frontlines of flourishing every day. The pastors, the developers, and the mission-driven entrepreneurs who make up this long-standing ecosystem. Their missions, at the basic level, are powered by relationships, and the technology we build should serve them, not advance isolation.

This is why human flourishing isn’t just part of our message. It is our message. It’s the lens through which we evaluate every product we build, every partnership we form, and every benchmark we set. Our Flourishing AI (FAI) and Flourishing AI Christian (FAI-C) benchmarks reflect that commitment. They are among the first comprehensive frameworks for evaluating how well today’s leading AI models support holistic human well-being.
